Notting Hill Genesis & Transport for London

Welcome

What’s happening at the Northwood Station redevelopment?

We want to thank everyone for coming to the exhibitions and for continuing to comment on the Northwood proposals.

This feedback is very helpful and we are now assessing and considering these comments closely.

We are currently reviewing all options and will respond to the issues raised in due course. As a result, the anticipated April submission date has been delayed. Once the full review has been undertaken, we will continue to keep residents and stakeholders informed of our progress and our next steps.
We are committed to delivering this brownfield site to provide much needed new and affordable homes in the area alongside step-free access to the station and other transport improvements.

Why We Are Here

Following the previous public consultation and discussions with Council Planning Officers and the Greater London Authority; Notting Hill Genesis and Transport for London (TfL) have now prepared their redevelopment proposals for the site.

The Story So Far

Transport for London (TfL) previously consulted on proposals to redevelop the site in 2015. TfL submitted a planning application in 2016 but subsequently withdrew it.

Prior to selecting a development partner, TfL set out several requirements which a developer would have to deliver including:

  • Maximising development potential
  • Step free access
  • High quality scheme
  • Affordable housing – minimum 35%
  • Transport interchange improvements
  • Public realm improvements
  • Complementary commercial space

Since then, TfL has selected Notting
Hill Genesis as their development partner.

NHG is reviewing the previous extensive discussions with the local community prior to formulating firm proposals.

Feedback

At this stage in the process we are asking people for their ideas about what they would like to see come forward on the site whilst considering:

  • Local and London-wide planning policy
  • Previous consultation on proposals for the site

All feedback will be carefully considered by the project team and our initial ideas will be exhibited to you before the end of the year.

We are also exhibiting proposals for creating step free access to Northwood Station which we’d like your views on.
